It’s an unpopular opinion, but Sense and Sensibility is my favorite Jane Austen novel (and the 1995 movie is my favorite adaptation). I just love the Dashwood Sisters--pragmatic Elinor, romantic Marianne, and precocious Margaret.

The Dashwood Sweater would certainly appeal to all three of the sisters it’s named after--the pearl-like cable motif is a twist (pun intended) on a classic knitwear staple and the oversized fit makes it the perfect piece to throw on with jeans, flouncy skirts, or your favorite pair of comfy leggings.

Knit from the top down with a drop-shoulder construction, a statement cable line along the shoulder, straight sleeves, and finished off with twisted rib for the hem, cuffs, and double folded collar, the Dashwood Sweater is timeless piece you’ll reach for year after year.

Sizes Available

1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6) 7 (8) 9

Each size corresponds to a finished bust circumference of 87.5 (99.5) 110 (122) 134.5 (145.75) 157.5 (170) 180.75cm or 35 (39.75) 44 (48.75) 53.75 (58.25) 63 (68) 72.25 inches.

Note on choosing a size: I recommend 25-35cm or 10-14 inches positive ease with this garment, so the above listed sizes are designed to fit an actual bust measurement of around 73.5 (83.5) 94 (104) 114.5 (124.5) 134.5 (144.5) 155cm or 29 (33) 37 (41) 45 (49) 53 (57) 61 inches. This means that if your bust measures 94cm/37in, you should choose the Medium size, which measures 123cm/49in which will have 29cm/11.5in of positive ease. For finished measurements, there is a full chart on Pages 29 and 30.
